As promised in my About page (re: post title).

Nine times out of ten, the outfits you’ll see on my Instagram and on the blog are outfits that, while though-out and intentional, I put together for the purpose of running around and generally living my life. But every now and then, I get the urge to curate an outfit with the specific goal of creating a vibe. In this case, the vibe was Vaguely Victorian.

Dress: Free People, c. 2016 // Boots: Naturalizer

I’m often drawn to subtle Victorian details like the pin-tucks and crochet panels on my dress. Most of the details were hidden on this day by my red scarf which I thought added a nice pop of color to an otherwise neutral ensemble.

There's just something about rambling ivy and a stony archway // A Savage Heart
Coat: Aritzia, c. 2016 // Hat: Forever 21, c. 2015

A wide-brim hat seemed a fitting addition for a stroll in the park, like the promenades the bourgeoisie used to take arm-in-arm. Though you’ll more likely find hubby and I hand in hand instead as we make our way through the world.

Earrings: Satya Jewelry

Add on my favorite camel coat (though it has found a serious contender recently) and dangly gold earrings, and I was ready for a brisk, romantic day at Fort Tryon.
